Dr. S. S. SARKAR

Dr. S. S. Sarkar is the Founder Chairman, Managing Director and Chief Radiologist of SARKAR DIAGNOSTICS, one of the Largest Stand alone Medical Diagnostic Centre of India, based at Lucknow. Dr. Sarkar is known for bringing most of diagnostic modalities under one roof and redefining medical diagnostic service in private sector in India.

Born on March 5, 1960, Dr. Sarkar received his Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery degree from King George’s Medical College (KGMC) in Lucknow in the year 1983.  He went on to complete his Doctor of Medicine degree in Radiology in 1987 from King George’s Medical College in Lucknow. He received his advanced training with level II certification from Johns Hopkins School of Medicine, Baltimore, Maryland, USA and presently working as Assistant Professor of Radiology in TSM Medical College and Hospital, Lucknow.

Dr. Sarkar single handedly founded SARKAR DIAGNOSTICS in 1989. He started working using a portion of his residence and continued there for the next twenty years bringing in the latest modalities at quick intervals. About ten years back he ran into shortage of space and shifted SARKAR DIAGNOSTICS with all latest amenities to a larger place  . This new Centre developed as one of the largest stand alone diagnostic centre of India and established new benchmarks.

Dr. Sarkar founded SARKAR WELFARE FOUNDATION about ten years back to satisfy his urge for serving the poor and the needy. He started providing Diagnostic Services at affordable rates to the poor on the First and Third Sundays of every month which became a huge success. Subsequently Pediatric Cardiology Clinic was started especially for children with Congenital Cardiac Defects. This clinic is organized with the help of Qualified Pediatric Cardiac Physicians and Surgeons on the Fourth Sunday of every month.

Dr. Sarkar is recipient of the BEST POST GRADUATE STUDENT for two consecutive years of 1986 and 1987 with accompanying scholarships. He was also awarded Membership of ACADEMY OF MEDICAL SPECIALISTS. He is also a member of RADIOLOGICAL SOCIETY OF NORTH AMERICA, CHICAGO, USA.

Dr Sarkar has been AWARDED PADMA SHRI by the PRESIDENT OF INDIA on April 12, 2016.
